If you’ve been wondering how to create a Christmas coffee bar with simple neutral decor you’ve come to the right place!!

Do you ever start to take out your holiday decorations, look around and be like eh, I’m not feeling these decorations?

No, just me? 🤣

It’s crazy how much my feelings can change over a year. I may have commitment issues!

What I’ll be Sharing

I’m going to walk you through how I decorated my coffee bar with simple neutral Christmas decor, and give you lots of tips to take away!

What is the Best Spot in Your House for a Coffee Bar Area?

There are quite a few areas of your home where you can set up a coffee bar area.

  • You can add an extended area to the exitsting kitchen counter like we did in our current house (picture above – DIY blog post coming soon 😉)
  • Between the kitchen and living area
  • Butlers pantry (between dining room and kitchen) The picture below shows our last house with this option.
  • Find a space on your kitchen counter to create a coffee bar area
This was still a work in progess!

What Can You Use to Make a Coffee Bar Area?

  • Repurpose a hutch
  • Use a small area on your kitchen counter
  • Create a built-in extension off of your kitchen area
  • Use a cute side table add shelves above

What do you need to set up a coffee bar?

Some of these items below are optional, you could also decide you’d like to add other items as well.

  • Coffee maker (obviously 😂)
  • Favorite coffee (duh)
  • Spoons
  • Sugar bowl
  • Creamer
  • Flavor add ons (pics below)
  • Frother (pics below)
  • Cute decor
  • 4-6 coffee mugs

Whisk Milk Frother

This milk frother is one of my favorite items to have at my coffee bar! All you need is some heavy cream, this frother and some flavored syrup (pictured below) and you can have a yummy cold foam added to any of your drinks!

This is the exact frother I use right here!

Flavor Syrup

My favorite syrups to have on hand are pictured above. I use the sugar free (guilt free) and keep a few regular ones on hand for guests.

How to Decorate Your Neutral Coffee Bar

Step 1

Pick 2-3 neutral colors to use throughout your coffee bar

white coffee mugs

This year I decided to trade in my Rae Dunn mugs. (gasp 😳 yup, I said it) I wanted to find something that I could use throughout the year. I did keep a few specialty ones that will fit in for the holidays.

These cute white polka dot mugs I found at Target for $3 each. I was sold it was such a good deal! By having these neutral mugs I could easily add in 2-3 other themed mugs for each season or occasion.

I love the Magnolia line at Target and they had these simple Christmas mugs pictured that I thought were PERFECT to sprinkle in! What do you think?

Step 2

Keep all your larger items neutral and ideally the same color.

I decided to be a little extra and buy a new coffee maker to complete the theme. To be fair the one we had was really large and took up a lot of space. This white Keurig was on sale so, I grabbed it. I think it’s pretty cute!

As I’m writing this it looks like it’s still on sale so, I’ll link it for you here in case you think it’s cute too!

I found this white jar with Coffee written on it at one of my favorite stores HomeGoods for $5.99. The one I had last year for Christmas was too busy looking and had red all over it (again, commitment issues 🤣).

This jar works perfectly because it can be used year-round, and it fits into my color theme.

Step 3

Now, for the fun part!! It’s time to sprinkle in your accent decor.

My Favorite Stores to Shop for Accent Decor

I’ll share with you below some of my FAVORITE stores to shop for accent decor.

  • Target
  • Homegoods
  • TJ Maxx
  • Michaels
  • Marshalls
  • Walmart
  • Amazon

Target’s dollar spot is one of my favorite places to grab cute decor. I found these mini flocked Christmas trees for $3 each and the Christmas countdown I found there last year, I think for $5.

These mini Christmas trees I’m obsessed with, I found them in the Magnolia section at Target. They were a 3 pack for $9.99. The 3rd one I have placed next to the coffee jar. Too cute!

All the other decor you see are items I already had and repurposed to decorate the space.

I’m really happy with how everything came together once I was able to find all the items I showed you.

I hope you enjoyed this walkthrough and I’d love to hear what your favorite part was!
